Every Tuesday many members go to the Creation Wall climbing
center at 582 Moseley Rd, Birmingham. Click here for location
details. If you want to make contact with us there its probably
best to get in touch beforehand to make sure we meet up on
In the summer months when the days are long and the weather
is good - don't laugh, it does happen - we sometimes meet
up at a crag not too far away to enjoy an evening on the rock,
or go on a evening walk or bike ride. Strangely, these may be
routed by a pub or two.
On club nights members come together to exchange tales
and discuss recent exploits over a beer. It is also when much
scheming is done, poring over maps and guides to select
routes to be tried over the coming weekends. If you're feeling
jaded and need an injection of enthusiasm then come along.
Solihull Mountaineering Club does not undertake to teach people to climb. The club has no qualified instructors. However once you have undergone a short course in the basics of ropework we endeavour to provide an atmosphere in which newcomers will be made welcome, will be helped along in the their climbing development and will be introduced into the network of climbers within
the Club (so you will have someone to climb with at the wall).
Climbing, hill walking and mountaineering are activities involving a risk of injury or death.
Participants should be aware of these risks and be responsible for their own actions
