The weekend of 21st and 22nd September 2019 was spent in Eric’s Bunk House in Tremadog (Richard, Donna, Geoff, Paul, Andrew, Holly, Mark, Mike & Jo). A gathering of hardy climbers spent Saturday cramming in as many climbs as possible as the forecast was rather wet for the Sunday. Routes included Scratch, Scratch Arete, Striptease and many others…

The madness of Snowdon Summit!

Andrew and Jo opted for 2 days of walking. The good weather on Saturday allowed for a sun-scorched walk up Snowdon via the Rhyd Ddu path, helping an injured fell runner back up to the summit station on the way. After the madness of the café and summit cairn (couldn’t get near it!) we headed for Yr Aran and a blissfully quiet view back to Snowdon and over to the Nantle Ridge and the coast. A hearty meal was had in the pub that evening.

With rain and cloud on Sunday Andrew and Jo opted for Moelwyn Bach and Moelwyn Mawr, making our way up to some really steep incline tracks and being in awe of the extent of old mining works along the hillsides all around. We had some good views from Moelwyn Mawr and then made our way down by scrambling around the shoreline of Llyn Stwlan before heading back down the steep inclines to the power station at Tanygrisiau Reservoir. A bacon buttie and an awesome cup of tea at the café set us up nicely for the long drive home.
