Day Meet to the Roaches for some winter bouldering and walking.

Winter is a great time to go bouldering with the friction on the gritstone at its best. The Staffordshire moorland provides some excellent walking.

Coppermines, Coniston, Lake District

10 places at the Barrow Mountaineering and Ski Club Hut.

This hut is at the heart of the Lake District, providing winter mountaineering and walking.  With some possible snow, even some ice climbing, snow gullies and scrambling awaits.

 

Saturday 3rd March to Sunday 4th March

Swanage

Camping on the Saturday night.

Some early season climbing on England’s southern coast.  Here there are loads of sport routes and trad climbing on limestone cliffs.

 

Saturday 10th March to Saturday 17th March (7 nights)

Ski trip to St Jean D’Aulps in the French Alps

10 places with 3 still available.

We will be based the massive Portes Du Soleil ski area, to the north of Morzine. This is arguably the largest linked ski area in the world, offering 650km of ski runs.

 

Thursday 29th March to Monday 2nd April (4 nights)

Easter trip to Pembroke

Camping at Bosherston.

Pembroke is arguably Britain’s best sea cliff climbing area.  The tides will be good for us, and with over 5,000 trad routes to choose from, there is something for everyone from VD to E9.  The Pembrokeshire coastal path is one of the UK’s National Trails providing some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in Britain, including, attractive harbours, offshore stacks and islands.

 

Sunday 22nd April

Day meet to Stanage, Peak District

Get out on rock day.

New to rock climbing or just need to dust off your rock shoes? Stanage is the perfect place from beginners to the more experienced…

Bank Holiday trip to the Lake District

12 places at the George Starkey Hut in Patterdale.

For the first May Bank Holiday weekend, we will be returning to the Lake District, this time in Patterdale.  Here there are lots of place for rock climbing, scrambling and mountain walking.

 

Friday 25th May to Tuesday 29th may (4 nights)

Bank Holiday trip to Aviemore, Cairngorms

10 places at Mill Cottage, Feshiebridge.

For the second Bank Holiday weekend, we are off to Scotland, and the Cairngorms National Park.  One of the UK’s largest National Parks it has more mountains, forest paths, rivers, lochs, wildlife hotspots, friendly villages and distilleries than you can possibly imagine.

There is the opportunity to extend our stay at this hut for the rest of this week.

 

Friday 22nd June to Sunday 24th June (2 nights)

Snowdonia, North Wales

Camping at Capel Curig.

Snowdonia in the summer provides plenty of light to climb, scramble, and walk in the beautiful Welsh Mountains.

 

Friday 13th July to Sunday 15th July (2 nights)

Bryn Gollau Cottage in Dinas Mawddwy, Mid Wales

Part of the clubs 60th Anniversary is a mid-summer trip to our club hut with a BBQ on the Saturday evening.

 

Sunday 5th August – Day trip

This could be mountain biking, orienteering, or climbing, but we will be out.

Big summer trip to the French Alps

12 places booked at Vallouise, Ecrins Massif, France.

The southern French Alps are said to have over 300 days of sunshine.  This area has 4,000m peaks, multi-pitch rock climbing, long Via Ferrates, mountain walking, and even some bouldering.

 

Friday 21st September to Sunday 23rd September (2 nights)

Gower, Camping

The sea cliffs of the Gower in South Wales, is a great family friendly place to climb off the beach, or just go for a swim.

West Warwick Sports Club, Olton

The club’s annual dinner to celebrate 60 years of adventure in the mountains.
