Thanks to a generous donation of equipment from Mr and Mrs Williams of Dorridge the SMC kit pool has now been greatly expanded. In addition to more harnesses, carabiners and figure of eights we now have another five (yes count them – five) pairs of crampons as well as a pair of crampons and skins for mountaineering skis. This is of real benefit to members that might want to try winter mountaineering, and find out whether or not they like the white stuff, before making the necessary financial commitment to the gear. All we need now are some suitably wintery conditions and folk wanting to put them to use.
